Every year I look forward to the first morning
with the Christmas tree.
I pour myself a cup of coffee
and find a cozy chair
where I can sit by the glow of the lights
on the tree.
It officially feels like Christmas.
Thoughts of thankfulness fill my mind
as I take in the nativity scene figurines
on the mantle
and the stockings with everyone's name on them.
"I wouldn't have any of this
without you, Lord," I say.
And it's so true.
If God had not pursued me,
beckoned me,
called me and
saved me...
None of this would be mine.
It's all because of Him.
I sit awhile longer and think
of the new year that's on it's way
and all the plans and dreams
that are possible,
and I take comfort in knowing that
it's all in His hands.
God will handle all the details.
So I sit and enjoy the lights
on the first Christmas tree morning.
This is beautiful, my friend. Your words and your pictures. I feel the same way! Waking up and plugging in the tree , snuggling in for some quiet time...It's Christmas!!!

ReplyDeleteThis is all so very beautiful, but I love your words, my friend. You are a blessing!
ReplyDeleteThis area looks so warm and cozy....You are a great decorator. I do love just sitting and enjoying the beauty of the Christmas Tree...AND...you have described the sweetest of the season perfectly...
ReplyDeleteAnd Christmas simply would not be Christmas if not for Him! If I ever get my tree up...I am going to enjoy that first morning by the tree. You are motivating me!!:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sentiment! I'm looking forward to getting our tree soon and putting it up (we keep a real tree up through the 12 days of Christmas). I, too, look forward to that first morning with the twinkling lights and the Nativity nearby. It helps center me for the day ahead and I'll remember this post! Thank you!
