Your Sunrise is Coming - A Word of Hope

"Let the sunrise of your love end our dark night."
Psalm 90:14

Good Morning Friends!

It's another Monday, which is the best day in my opinion! I love a fresh start; a new beginning and isn't it great that we get one every week? Actually, every morning!

As I read Psalm 90 this morning, I was thinking of so many people I know right now, who need a fresh start.

Some have been through health scares, some marital problems, floods, divorce, job loss, baby loss, and many more trials of friends I know.

Life can feel like a series of dark nights sometimes. Trials can stretch out over months and even years and hope can be a distant memory.

Even Moses, who knew God intimately, knew the hardship of life and took a moment to remind God of all they had been through and wasn't afraid to ask God for relief.

"Break through our clouded dawn again!
Only you can satisfy our hearts,
filling us with songs of joy
to the end of our days.

We've been overwhelmed with grief;
come now and overwhelm us with gladness.

Replace our years of trouble with decades of delight.

Let us see your miracles again,
and let the rising generation
see the glorious wonders you're famous for.

O Lord our God,
let your sweet beauty rest upon us
and give us favor.

Come work with us,
and then our works will endure,
and give us success in all we do."
(Psalm 90:14-17 TPT)

I can't help but think of our own trial of the past 9 years, with my husband's job and how miserable it was. But now, just weeks into his new job, it seems God has ended our dark night of working in horrible conditions and replaced it with light and goodness and endless hope and possibilities.

On this Monday morning, I just want to encourage you to seek the Lord and his compassion.

"How much longer will it take
until you show us your abundant compassion?"
v. 13

It's ok to ask for your dark night to end. It's ok to plead with the Lord for compassion and to be filled with songs of joy, once again.

You are not without hope and your days will not always be filled with grief and hardship.

One day the Lord's sunlight will end your dark night and you will wake one morning feeling like the weight of the world has lifted off your shoulders.

The trial you endured will leave behind the scars of knowledge and wisdom, discernment and how to better move forward.

You will know more and feel more and have compassion on those who now will come behind you, seeking their own sunrise.

Nothing is wasted with our Lord. No trial, no hardship, no heartbreak.

Your sunrise is coming and that's a glorious promise from the one who loves you abundantly.

Take care, my friends.

Until Next Time...
Blessings!

  5. Several of my friends are in the midst of horrible heartache right now---2 are grieving the loss of 30-ish sons, and 2 are deeply estranged from adult kids. This passage is a good thing for me to pray for them---that the Lord would overwhelm them with gladness.

  8. I immediately noticed the changes you've made here, and I love them! I will be changing mine again soon as well, as summer is wrapping up...I'll go with something more neutral and conducive to fall. I loved this post, and the verses from Romans at the top of the blog- I've never read those in The Message, but I love them! What a beautiful post again today, my friend. Thank you for always sharing your heart with us, and for the encouragement and wisdom you offer. I appreciate you more than words express, and something you said recently to me about the way you fellowship with the Lord has really struck me, and I have it tucked in my heart.

  9. What a lovely post. We live on a lake and sunrise is my favorite time of day. My favorite verse is Lamentations 3:22-23. There are new mercies every single day and the beauty of sunrise is a visual reminder of that. Have a great day!
