The Living Expression

Good morning everyone!
This morning I was reading my Bible
and after reading John 1:1-5 in my regular
translation, I turned to the Passion Translation
and thought the verses were such a beautiful
expression of the same passage.

The Living Expression

John 1:1-5

(The Passion Translation)

In the very beginning

the Living Expression

was already there.

And the Living Expression

was with God,

yet fully God.

They were together - face to face,

in the very beginning.

And through his

creative inspiration,

this Living Expression

made all things,

for nothing has existence

apart from him,

for his life is light for

all humanity.

And this Living Expression is the Light

that bursts through gloom…

the Light that darkness could not

diminish.

And after reading this passage,

I thought about how Jesus was the living expression

of our Heavenly Father.

But also...

the very last part that says,

And this Living Expression is the Light

that bursts through gloom…

the Light that darkness could not

diminish.

It made me think of how this world is always

trying to throw a dark blanket over our heads.

The world is full of doom and gloom and

would like nothing more than to cause

us to live in darkness and succumb to the darkness,

in mind, body and soul.

Yet...

as Christians - followers of Jesus Christ -

we have THE light living inside of us

and His Word says that

And this Living Expression is the Light

that bursts through gloom…

the Light that darkness could not

diminish.

And it reminded me that no matter

how dark our days might seem,

we have the light that shines

from within.

Jesus is the light!

And if you have given your life to him,

his light is in you and with you,

and it's his light that shines

all about you,

to diminish the darkness of this world.

So friends,

don't succumb to the tricks of this world,

(news, social media, negative people,

or circumstances).

You are full of light

and just as Jesus shines within you,

you can use his light to dispel darkness

in someone else's life, as well.

I hope you will.

Merry Christmas and Many Blessings

to you all!

Until Next Time...

stay cozy and warm.
