Happy Monday - And a Little Back Story

 Happy Monday, My Friends!

I hope you had a great weekend!

Our weekend started off with a visit from my sister, brother-in-law and nephew, as they were on their way home from Florida to Boerne. They stopped by Friday afternoon and we had a nice dinner at one of our favorite restaurants in town before they got back on the road for home. It's always so fun catching up with my sisters. There's always lots of laughter involved, which is good for the soul 😊

Saturday was a slow day around here, which was really nice. I worked on some office work, David mowed the grass, I organized some kitchen cabinets and then we sat down to a nice dinner of chicken and vegetables, followed by dessert.

Sunday brought lots of rain, but we managed to take a little drive that afternoon and then enjoy the rest of the day puttering around the house.

I made a pot of chicken noodle soup and garlic bread for dinner, which was delicious. We had a friend stop by for a few minutes and we had a nice visit with her, then we settled in for an evening of the old classic Hawaii Five-O, so David could analyze every single car that appeared on the screen. Do you have a husband that does that? It's the old tv station habit that he can't break. He sees all the bloopers, mishaps, and the fact that in one scene they were driving a 2-door and in the next scene it's a 4-door. It drives me crazy because I'm trying to just enjoy the show and he's constantly playing tv editor 😬 But, oh well.

☔☔☔

This week is going to be a rainy one, with a storm brewing down south of us. I think it's predicted to rain every day until Thursday. This isn't really out of the norm here, so we aren't surprised. But by Friday I'll be in desperate need of some sunshine.

I'm actually looking forward to being home and working around the house. I'm hoping to knock some things off my on-going-to-do-list, read a few books and organize a few more spaces. I'm sure there will be cooking involved, as well as the usual - cleaning and laundry. Such is life on the homefront and I love it all.

🏡

I want to thank you all for helping me with the FOLLOW numbers! I was so happy to move off of that annoying number and watch it land elsewhere. Your indulgence was appreciated 😀

Also, thank you for the sweet comments on Sunday's post - The Gathering. The back story to that piece is this...

It was the Christmas season and some sweet friends volunteered to host a party for David's office staff and volunteers. As we all gathered in their home, it was beautifully decorated with all of her Christmas collection from many years. We mingled and talked and then it was time to eat. Everyone was seated around the dining room, living room and kitchen; talking and just being themselves. That night, David wasn't the "boss" and they weren't employees. Everyone was just friends, sharing a meal.

After we ate, we were given a tour of their home, where we were delighted to view their family photos on the walls. This is when we were commenting on their clothing and shoes from days gone by, as I wrote in the story.

It was a lovely evening full of laughter and joy and made such an impression on me that I had to write about it.

After the book was published, I gave a copy of it, along with a framed copy of that story, to our friend who had hosted the gathering. She was delighted and touched and I'm sure it hangs in her home to this day.

And now you know the rest of the story 😊

Well, it's time to take the last sips of my morning coffee and start my day. I wish you a great one and hope you have lots of everything you need today.

Until Next Time...

Blessings!

Friendly comments are always welcomed. I read them all, even though I don't always reply, just for the sake of time. But I am grateful for every one :)
