As I stood at the window, looking out at the lake, I had to thank God for his mercies. Not that anything in particular was going on in that moment, or even that day, but I just had this sense that I had been given so many opportunities in my life, to begin again.
Whether in times of distress, when I felt like the trials wouldn’t end, or just on a fresh morning, when I needed a better day than I had before.
The opportunities to begin again have been so generous, so plentiful, so merciful, and at times, so undeserving.
“Because of the Lord’s faithful love,
We do not perish,
For his mercies never end.
They are new every morning;
Great is your faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22-23
Have you ever needed that fresh start?
Maybe the day just got off to a rough beginning. Maybe yesterday was less than ok. Maybe it's been a month or even a year of hard things, mistakes, bad decisions or mishaps. We all go through tough times.
But as I stood at the window this week, I felt the sweet presence of Jesus reminding me that every moment is an opportunity to begin again. Every hour can be fresh. Every day can be a brand new start. Every problem can be solved and every challenge can be met with grace and power, if we let the Lord accompany us.
If you've made some bad decisions lately or just had a crummy day this week, it's ok!
God loves you and offers you his mercy and grace.
Take his hand and start again. It's a brand new moment and he wants to give you a brand new chance to trust him.
His mercies are new and his faithful love is never ending.
Until Next Time...
Blessings!
Thank you so much. I really needed to read this today. Not that there's anything wrong, or any huge changes, just a timely, welcome reminder. --Elise
