Happy Friday, friends!
I didn't intend to be gone so long, but somehow I just never got around to writing this week.
This week we had a family dinner to celebrate Ted turning 33. Alex fixed a delicious Italian meal and topped it off with banana pudding made with nutter butters. It was so good!
We didn't have school this week, but the girls were busy getting stuff ready for their co-op market day they had yesterday.
Every year all the kids make things to sell and they keep the money they make. They get so excited to see their friends come and buy things from them and then in turn, they visit their friend's tables and buy things from them.
This year Emmy sold BBQ sandwiches, Ella (not pictured), sold iced tea, and Addie sold banana bread - plain and with chocolate chips. After two hours, they were pretty much sold out and it was time to pack things up for another year.
It was their last day of co-op and they ended with a pizza party and some water slides.
In other news...
I spent one entire day purging things in my office and straightening shelves, paper supplies, notebooks I no longer need and anything else that had been bothering me. That felt good. I love to sit down in a clean space, don't you?
I also found a website that offers books for review and pays for each book, so I decided to try it and see if they really paid. They give a fairly large selection and once you choose the book you want, you download a copy, read it within a given timeframe and then submit an Amazon review. It's pretty simple.
As I searched through the books, I came across this one and decided to try it and I hit the jackpot.
As I started reading through the chapters, I loved the message so much that I ended up buying my own copy, which totally negates the small fee they paid me, but I couldn't help myself.
I took so many notes in just the first three chapters and it made it super easy to write a positive review.
Today I will be busy with normal household things, such as paying bills, laundry, making a batch of cookies and figuring out what dinner will be. Tomorrow I think we will get out of the house for a few hours and have lunch out, buy some hardware we need and maybe visit a thrift store I've been wanting to go to. Oh, and I almost forgot...we will be keeping Asa and Sunday tonight while mommy and daddy have a dinner date. Fun!! I had better take my vitamins today 😅 They keep me running!
And that's all the exciting news for today 😀 Now I'm off to get breakfast and catch up on the blogs I follow.
Until Next Time...
Blessings!
Happy birthday, Ted. Hey, that's my dad's name too. I tried a book review before and I never got payment for any book so I gave up. I hope this works out for you. I love reading and my goal is to hit 50 books by the end of the year. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteDawn, are you on Goodreads? If so, we should be "friends" :) My goal this year is 25, I believe.
DeleteSounds like the makings of a fun weekend ahead! Those are some super cute entrepreneurs!:) Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer :) They are cuties, for sure.
DeleteWhat a fun event for the kiddos and also a great learning experience. How neat!
ReplyDeleteCheryl, it was a great learning experience. They have to count money, give change, set up, make plans. This was their 3rd year and they've learned what sells and what the other kids like to buy :) Someone sold chocolate milk this year and it was a bit hit :)
DeleteWhat a fun post. Just loving seeing the children selling their wares. Such a good learing experience. I remember as a kid having the lemonade stand at the end of the driveway and drinking more than I sold...HaHaHa Fun memory.
ReplyDeleteAfter being on the back burner waiting for surgery, I am finally able to get out and do a few things. I need card stock for my watercolors, a trip to Trader Joes, and lunch with a friend next week. Yeah.
Wanda, I'm so glad you're able to go shopping and have lunch with a friend. I can't wait to see your next painting.
DeleteSounds like a fun time for. the kids!!
ReplyDeleteI don't like to do book reviews, too much like school book reports. :)
Karen, very true about the book reports :) I don't mind if it's a book I really like, but when it's not that great, I don't enjoy having to write the review.
DeleteWould you mind sharing the name of the company that does the book reviews? Thanks!
ReplyDelete--Melanie
Hi Melanie! The company is called Paid Reader Club at: https://www.paidreaderclub.com
Deletei just ordered the devotional. Thank you so much for telling us about it.
ReplyDeleteOh great, Elizabeth! I hope you enjoy :)
DeleteWishing you a beautiful day my friend. smiles
ReplyDeleteLinda, back to you my friend! Have a relaxing weekend :)
DeleteA lovely, full week in motion with all the familiar rhythms of family, school activities, and those satisfying little home projects that make everything feel in order again. The co-op market day sounds especially sweet, there is something very special about children getting to create, share, and see their efforts appreciated in real time. And it is always a win when an organising day leaves a space feeling calm and settled.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful week! I love the sound of the co-op and their day to sell things. I love what that teaches! Way to go, girls, for selling out! I love cleaning, purging, re-organizing spaces in my home, and I really love sitting back to admire the work that it required. So yes, I know exactly what you mean. I think we're a lot alike in so many ways! I meant to tell you that I bought the book you recommended, about the Christian woman and her finances. Thanks for the rec! It'll take me a while to get through it, but I anticipate time to do more reading soon. I hope you enjoyed your Friday and that you have time to do fun things this weekend, including keeping your little grands!
ReplyDeleteSweet pictures of the girls!! I agree, a clean house makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the precious time with your grands! I love your pictures too... so sweet. I had no school this past week too and did a bunch of cleaning out and purging and yes, it feels so good to be organized. Now I just have to jump back into planning for school. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the many smiles. Wishing you a lovely Sunday.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun activity for the grandgirls! I tried posting on Friday, but it kept telling me I wasn't logged in. Go figure!
ReplyDeleteI love that activity for the granddaughters! Hope you had a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteSweet pictures of the girls.
ReplyDeleteThe co-op marketing day sounds like a fun event.
I so love the children's market, here in Italy it's an almost unknown initiative but it's so important for them to socialize, to give importance to their own work and to begin and know the importance of self earned money. And all is lived as a game, that's wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing such joyful faces, dear Debbie.
May your days to come be filled with smiles and blessings
