December Birthdays and a Family Photo

Hello friends!

I hope you're having a cozy week so far. It's been COLD here in Texas and we actually had to break out the big coats that we wear a few days every winter ⛄

Monday night we celebrated all the December birthdays and took this family photo, which turned out to be one of my favorites. Of course the boys look like they are just humoring us and will sprint away at any moment. 😅 I think I had forgotten how much little boys like to run. From the moment they get together, they are continuously chasing each other and running. But somehow we managed to get them in the picture for a few seconds.

After we got home that night and were looking at the photo, David said that he remembered the day when we were the young couple gathering around the grandparents. Now we ARE the grandparents!

When I look at this picture I think of legacy. I think of the miraculous hand of God that brought a news photographer down to Corpus to shoot a hurricane (summer of 1988), who met a girl working in a hotel gift shop and now here we are - 37 years later - and God did all of this.

I see futures encased in these babies, toddlers and our big girls and I just marvel at the handiwork of God. They are each so unique and have such spirit in them. I can't wait to see what the Lord does with each of them.

In other news...

I finished the last of my shopping and wrapping yesterday and glad to be done with that. I go back to work tomorrow, so time will be short for the next week. I will work two days next week and then it will be full-speed-ahead with cooking and getting ready for Christmas night with the kids.

This year will be a simple meal of Taco Soup, cornbread and desserts. Nothing fancy, just warm food and lots of wrapping paper flying in all directions.

Today I have some office work to do and I'll be cooking a few meals to get ready for my work week. I have things to tell you about that, but will wait for another post.

I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday and are enjoying the season.

Until Next Time...

Blessings!

I think a simple meal sounds lovely. It is about the family and Jesus.
