Broken Pieces - A Simple Prayer

"The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,

and his ears are open to their cry for help."

Psalm 34:15

Lord, I don't know anyone who is not going through something right now.

Whether it's the mom with a very sick baby,

the young man with cancer,

the lady whose dog is very sick,

or the family trying to take care of their elderly mom.

There are people with health issues

and those doing their best to care for their needs.

There are funerals to plan,

people to rescue,

houses to rebuild

and on and on it goes.

Though we are mostly strengthened as we walk through

these things,

we are also wounded, sometimes for life.

Sometimes our spirits are crushed by the weight

and the fear.

Father, your WORD says you are near the brokenhearted

(Psalm 34:18)

Please be near us as we call out to you.

Be near us as we live these things out with tender

and sometimes

broken hearts.

Restore our faith, Lord.

Help us to keep our eyes on you

along the way.

Put our broken pieces back together,

as only you can do.

In Jesus' Name,

Amen.

  1. Just beautiful. With everything going on in our country
everything seems so broken. So much suffering.
So much rage. We feel everything is out of our control.
God is in control we just need to to ask him and trust him.
I have been so upset about all that the people of Texas are
Going through. This was just what I needed.
