A New Hobby

Happy Tuesdays Friends!

What a beautiful few days of weather we're having. The skies have been so blue and the air is crisp and cool. David and I are entering into our yearly squabble over whether to turn the heat on or not. I run around in pants and long sleeves and he is in shorts, yet he is always the first to say he's cold. 🤔 Hmmm...could it be possible that he's underdressed for the Fall?

Speaking of Fall...it's the perfect time of year to be outside riding my new birthday gift! David bought me this gorgeous bike and I am having so much fun riding around our property. My legs are hurting, my stomach muscles are wondering what in the world, and I'm loving feeling my heart rate increase as I make a few laps around the house and yard.

Our granddaughters have recently discovered how much fun bikes can be, so I thought this would be a fun activity we can do together. David bought one for himself too and we've been riding every day since.

We plan on taking the bikes to our local park every now and then, so we can really ride and get some exercise. I told David that he needs to give me a few weeks to build my stamina first.

In other news (well, not exactly), I worked on purging my journals yesterday. I knew this would be a tedious task, but didn't know I would grow tired of it so quickly. Well, it was hours, to be exact. I started with a stack of loose pages and pieces of writing that I had saved from random places I would write.

I'm separating them into categories, such as Faith, Quotes, Prayers, Motherhood, and a few other categories. I started placing them in folders, just to keep up with them as this project goes along.

I still have a stack of journals to go.

My goal is to gather all of my writing into a collection of notebooks, so they can easily be turned into a book or just articles to share.

In the future, my desire is to have one journal that I write in, rather than pieces here and there and all over the place. We shall see.

Today I will continue to work on this project, as well as organizing our toiletries into the bathroom David just finished renovating. That will take a while too.

Yesterday I cooked a big batch of chicken spaghetti, which was delicious. Tonight I think I'll try another crockpot recipe for salisbury steak. We will eat on both of these meals for days to come.

Well, that's my exciting life update for now!

I hope you have a wonderful day and I will see you soon.

Until Next Time...

Blessings!

  1. Hey, my husband is a David too, grin. We have bikes, and we haven't ridden them in a long time. I'd like to trade mine in for a trike-3 wheeler (the kind you see at the beach). ANYWAYS, have fun bike riding. Have a beautiful day friend.

  2. I have the same style bike - reminds me of riding when I was a kid! Note about safety, don’t turn too sharply, I did and fell It’s a shock when you’re riding one minute and down on the ground the next Mary

    1. Thanks for the tip, Mary! I'm doing my best to ride safely. No one wants to pick a 58 year old woman off the ground because she fell off her bike :)

  3. Love the bike. I still have mine from childhood - I need to get it out and fixed up. Great exercise.

    1. Wow! That would be special to still have a bike from my childhood. The problem was that my brother would steal all the parts off mine when he needed to fix his :) hahaha

  5. Have fun on your new bike. Too many big hills around here for me to ride a bike but I do like to.

  7. Such a cute bike! I know you are going to love your new hobby - at least for six months or so (ha..maybe that is me!!) I tried purging journals and/or sermon notebook. I read through them and then put the stuff I wanted to remember in my computer. Like I was ever going to remember it there!! It sounded like a good idea but I honestly have completely forgotten about everything I typed into the computer. I could have just thrown it all away. Still thinking of a way that works better for me. Ah, and I wish I had a dollar for each time I have told my (completely undressed) husband, "just put a sweater one!" But he prefers the heat. Ugh! Happy Wednesday!
