Well, another week has come and gone and it's Saturday and the temptation always comes with going out or staying home.
I have two moods when it comes to Saturdays...stay home, cook, work on projects around the house or grab my husband and make a day of thrifting, lunch out and having fun.
Since it's been a busy week, full of keeping grandkids, I might be leaning toward the going out mode today. Stay tuned to find out 😀
But for now, I'll recap what I've been up to this week...
As I've talked about before, David's mom is in a nursing home. The care is adequate, but the administration team is ridiculous. For over a year now we've been working on getting answers to some billing questions that arose on her statement. This was a great concern because back in 2024 we went to great lengths to get her on Medicaid. We had to hire a lawyer, gather stacks of bank statements and other documents, attend several meetings and all the stress that goes along with this phase of life. The lawyer did a great job and she was approved within a month.
But, as you might know, the recertification process happens every year, so when it came time for renewal, the nursing home said they could do it, saving us time and money of having to go back to the lawyer. We said ok.
Well, that would be fine if they actually knew what they were doing, but they don't. So here we sit, having endured so many more talks, emails, phone calls, billing errors and lots of stress, where there really didn't need to be, if they only knew what they were doing. They are horrible at returning calls and when they do call back, it's like being on a merry-go-round and you end up right back at the beginning without any answers. It's maddening. So for the past few weeks I've been dealing with them and it's so time consuming.
On Tuesday we attended a funeral, as I wrote about recently. We also had family dinner that night.
Wednesday was spent getting craft supplies ready for Thursday, which would be Millie Day with the girls.
I also cooked spaghetti that night and made chicken salad for lunch.
Thursday I picked the girls up and, as usual, we headed straight for the library. Except now it's two different libraries each week, because some of the series they read can't be found at just one location. They are reading so much, so I'm not complaining at all!
We came home, had lunch and then got started on the craft for the day. The girls have always loved crafting, so there were no complaints about this.
This week we painted flower pots and the girls made magic wands. I failed to get a picture of all the finished items, but they turned out really cute.
I bought red, white and blue decor, thinking they might want to do something patriotic, but girls are girls and the pinks and other colors won the day.
After crafting was over, we all took a break, but in the meantime it had rained all day and the roads were starting to flood. I was worried about getting them home, but thankfully David got home from work and we all made it back to their house in his truck. By then the rain had stopped and the roads were clearing off.
Friday the little boys arrived a little after 9:00 to have their own day with me. They are so good and played for hours with firetrucks and their firehouse I bought them. Asa and I took a walk outside, picking up sticks and looking for squirrels, while David and Sunday played inside. This baby is crazy about his PawPaw and will totally bypass me whenever David is in the room. It's become quiet the joke around the family now 😀

Friendly comments are always welcomed. I read them all, even though I don't always reply, just for the sake of time. But I am grateful for every one :)
