Good Morning, my friends!
Happy Tuesday! It's also a Millie School day, which means the table is set with school books, pencil boxes and other fun supplies.
Yesterday was a typical Monday, as far as chores and responsibilities go. I started my day making a trip to town to return some things to the UPS store and since HEB is in the same parking lot, I decided to make my way inside to do a little shopping. We needed milk, lunchmeat and a few other items, but I like to stop by this HEB every now and then to see what they have on sale.
This HEB is one of the huge stores and they carry all kinds of things besides groceries. They have a middle section filled with toys and home goods, which is dangerous if you like to shop 😅 I mean, who wouldn't want to pick up an extra throw pillow while shopping for bread? (I did NOT, by the way).
I got a few things, had a good look around, but didn't do much damage there, which was good. This week I actually had a Hello Fresh order coming, so I had the meals taken care of and didn't need much.
I got home and started putting the groceries away and got caught up organizing some pantry items into some plastic containers. Next thing I knew, I had spent a good hour in the kitchen working on things. But it was time well spent.
Everything is so green now!
I did a few loads of laundry - washed, folded, and put away. This doesn't happen all at once. I actually like to fold laundry at night while we're watching tv. It keeps me awake and keeps me from getting restless.
But, back to the day...I cleaned out the school cabinet and got the girl's work ready for today. I always have the table set with their books and boxes when they come in. I usually have something ready for a quick breakfast or mid-morning snack if they need one.
I ordered Asa's birthday present for his upcoming 4th birthday. Checked that off the list ✅ Also wrote out a note on a friend's birthday card and got that ready to mail.
David came home mid-afternoon and we had a cup of coffee together and talked about his day. Eventually I got up to go do some things, but for the life of me, I can't even remember what I was busy with. But I must have been walking back and forth staying busy because the next thing I knew, my FitBit was telling me I had reached my steps for the day and I had just started cooking supper. So, I consider the day a "win" as far as exercise goes 😅
After dinner we watched a great movie that came highly recommended by Candace Cameron. It's called
Solo Mio starring Kevin James. The movie was a delight! It had all the elements - made us laugh and cry - and had not even one bad word or scene, which was such a reprieve from every other show these days. I highly recommend it!
We had apple tartlets for dessert and caught the live show of American Idol before heading off to bed. And just as I was dozing off, the front door camera dinged and it was the usual suspect...a cat making it's way across the front porch 🐈 Thankfully I had no trouble going back to sleep.
Thanks for reading about my Monday. Nothing too exciting - just an ordinary day...but those are my favorites.
I hope you have a wonderful week! Thanks for stopping by!
Until Next Time...
Blessings!
That was a good day!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of HEB and now I'm curious about it. It's nice to see your table all ready for Millie school. That's such a blessing for those kids!
I've heard good things about Solo Mio and want to check it out. I agree, so nice to have something to watch without the language and bad scenes.
I have Solo Mio on my last of things to do, I keep seeing great comments about it. I love to shop HEB but Kroger is closer to us and I like them too. Your yard is so green and pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteYou described a Monday that is full of joy and it sounds like you got much accomplished...this is a WIN! I've not heard of this movie, but what I have heard of is HEB. I so wish we had one around here...nearest one is in Corsicana and I really don't want to drive up there. Their stores are gigantic and so full of things that you don't usually see. Our area is taken over by the Brookshire's stores, so I doubt seriously we will get an HEB. I can still wish for one though.. Happy Tuesday Debbie...
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good day. I like ordinary days!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a productive day. Your yard is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI like anything Candice is in - they are always good shows.
Ordinary days are the best and it looks like yours was a pretty productive one.
ReplyDeleteSolo Mio was a good movie. I have been watching American Idol too. It was nice to see some of season 5 contestants on there. Mandisa made the top ten then. I got to see them on tour at the Anaheim Pond. She came out and said she thanked God for being there. It was really sad when she passed. I own a few of her CD.s Have a nice week!
ReplyDeleteSusan, we also saw the tour that year in Beaumont. Yes, Mandisa was one of our favorites. I have several of her cd's and was so sad when she passed away. What a tragedy.
DeleteYour Monday sounds like a great, productive day with all the necessary things. I always enjoy a kitchen organization and clean up time! Hope school went well and enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteSchool days with the grandchildren are extra special! Your yard with the swing-set looks amazing! It sounds like you had a wonderful day! God bless!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading about your Monday, Debbie. I hope school went well with the girls on Tuesday. Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteSchool days, school days, I love seeing all the books, and supplies. I don't have any little ones anymore that are school age. There are either grown, or our new generation of babies. Always enjoy you blog.
ReplyDeleteDearest Debbie,
ReplyDeleteOrdinary days aren't so bad, they are my favorite too for they mean everything and everyone are fine, thank God!
May your day and weekend ahead be filled with joy and smiles
