Good Monday Morning, my friends!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! We had a weekend at home, still trying to get over whatever this was that has had us both stopped up and coughing.
In spite of not feeling great, we did manage to babysit some grandkids on Friday night. Five of them, to be exact 😅 We had pizza and I made peanut butter cookies. We played Yahtzee, Crazy 8's, Battle, had a Bluey dance party and just had a lot of fun.
On Saturday it was back to taking it easy, with the exception of a grocery pick up I had to do. I had not been to the store all week, so it couldn't be put off any longer.
David spent the afternoon painting the grout in one of the bathrooms. Did you know you could paint the grout? For less than $20 your tile can look brand new. We have tile in both bathrooms and the grout was horrible. So he has spent the past two weekends making our bathrooms look brand new. Normally this would not be "blog worthy," but who knows who might need to have a refresh and paint their grout? So I thought I would share 😀
Yesterday I stayed home, started a new puzzle, made some lunch and basically just rested. We did go for a little drive in the evening, just to get out of the house for 30 minutes. Then it was back to the puzzle and a few shows on tv before heading off to bed.
Thankfully I feel a lot better this morning, so the hope is that each day will be better and better.
Today I will be working on lessons for tomorrow's school day. The girls will be here bright and early, ready for Millie School.
Pork chops are on the menu for tonight's dinner. Kroger has a package of 5 pork chops for $5.00, which is a good deal! I've started keeping a few packs of these on hand. I sometimes like to bake these in the oven with brown sugar and pepper, which are delicious. But lately I've been simmering them on the stovetop in a skillet with a bit of oil and seasonings. They come out tender and delicious, as well.
Well, I'm off to eat breakfast and start the day. I hope you have a great start to your week. I hope to check in with all of you in the next few days.
Many blessings to all of you, my friends 💛
Until Next Time...
Blessings!

The peanut butter cookies look so tasty, Debbie. I am glad you had a restful weekend. Hopefully whatever is blowing in the air will soon be gone. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Robin. I'm feeling much better this morning :)
DeleteI love how bright and cheerful your house is!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteThose cookies look delicious! I'm sure your grandchildren love spending time with you. Have a great week ahead, Debbie!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Dawn! I love spending time with them too :)
DeleteSo glad you woke up feeling better this morning! Here's to a clear-headed/no coughing week ahead! And a bit more of the Bluey dance party!! Happy Monday to you, friend!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer :) Feeling much better today!
DeleteLooks like the kids were having a great time, bet the grandparents were too.
ReplyDeleteI haven't made peanut butter cookies for a long time, they sound good.
Mari, I had not made them in a while either, but I had a craving :)
DeleteI would love to read more about Millie's Homeschool. I homeschooled my son for two years but can't imagine schooling my grands. I have an 11 year old granddaughter with special needs that is homeschooled, and I feel sure her Mother would appreciate you convincing me to help out a day or two a week! Haha!
ReplyDeleteAngie, if you have the time I would encourage you to help out. I've always had "Millie Days" that were just about playing, but the girls love to learn and I love teaching, so it works for us. If you have any questions, feel free to email me and I will tell you what I can.
DeleteThe dance party looks like a hit.
ReplyDeleteKathy, they love to sing and dance :)
DeleteI am glad you are feeling better. So fun to have the kids Friday night and I like your rug. I watched some You Tube videos today on apartment decorating, so thank you for that tip! I love hearing the home improvement tip of painting grout too. Hope it is a good week a Millie's school!
ReplyDeleteMarilyn, it's so exciting to think about decorating a new place. Have a great week!
DeleteSounds like a fun time with your grandkids.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to paint the grout. No tiles here so no grout!!
Karen, no grout is a good thing :)
DeleteYour cookies look yummy! It sounds like you had a lovely weekend despite not feeling your best.
ReplyDeleteJoanne, in spite of the cold, we had a great weekend. I'm feeling much better today.
DeleteThe kiddos look like they were having a great time with the dance party. The cookies look yummy. Sounds like a fun weekend.
ReplyDeleteI painted the vinyl surround in my shower several years ago and it still looks perfect.
Glad you are feeling better
Cheryl, I've never heard of painting the vinyl surround! That could end up on the list :)
DeleteI admire your family!
ReplyDeleteLoredana, thank you for that sweet comment :)
DeleteHello Dearest! So happy to hear you folks are feeling better. Time with the grandkids looked like lots of fun and those cookies have my mouth watering! I did not know you could paint grout and need to read up on that. Hmmm I love pork chops and that is a great deal! I sometimes do what my Gram used to do and make a bed of chopped onion and carrot, put the pork chops on top. Season as you want (seasoned salt, pepper, sage, garlic powder) and then top each chop a Tbsp or so of brown sugar and a 1/4 of a peeled apple on top of that...and bake them that way. The apple and brown sugar make kind of an applesauce on top of each chop. yum!
ReplyDeleteThose cookies look amazing!! And I had NO idea you could paint grout! We only have one bathroom that has it and I've talked about cleaning it forever but haven't gotten around to it of course, but that would be great! I'll have to look into that!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I absolutely love your rug! Everytime I see it I think about how beautiful it is and how bright and cheerful it makes your home look! Looks like your grands had an amazing time!
