It's late and I should be tucked in bed, sleeping the night away. But instead, I'm up checking on blogging friends I haven't seen in a while.
My mind just wouldn't shut off tonight. Thoughts of a house that hasn't sold yet, the noisy highway outside the window, what to put on the Thanksgiving grocery list and on and on it goes.
Coffee sounds so good right now, but that would be such a huge mistake and I would regret it a few hours from now.
I thought I would be more tired tonight, because I stayed pretty busy today. It was my first day home in a week's worth of work, so I kept busy doing house stuff.
I cleaned a closet, did the laundry, baked homemade chocolate chip cookies (no eggs), made dinner, paid some bills, watched the Golden Bachelor finale, and read a few pages of my latest book. It's been a good day.
David came home and we walked to the mailbox to grab a few days worth of mail. I've done some Christmas shopping online this week, so I'm expecting a few boxes over the next week. I'm happy to have much of Christmas checked off the list.
Tomorrow I will organize some of the girl's craft boxes that have gotten way out of hand. In the afternoon Asa will come to stay for a few hours while Collin and Morgan attend a wedding. They will take baby Sunday with them. I don't think mommy or baby is ready for the parting of ways, just yet. David and I will have fun playing with Asa and maybe take him on a wagon ride to the mailbox.
During family dinner this week, the girls and I coordinated the Thanksgiving day menu and what each of us will be making. As I was looking at the calendar today, I realized I will have to order groceries way ahead, since I will be working right up to the day before Thanksgiving. I will spend most of the day cooking. I don't like to go to the grocery store the week of a holiday, so I will need to do my shopping before going back on my next weekly shift. Lots to think about!
Well, I think I will go read for a while and try to fall asleep now.
Thanks for tuning in for this late night blogging session. Let's not make this a habit 😅😩
Until Next Time...
Blessings!
Good to see you post. I hate those nights when I feel bone tired, and my eyes are wide open! Most nights i sleep well, but I think we all have those bad nights now and then.
ReplyDeleteGlad all will be together for the holiday. Take care.
I feel you dear Friend. I have had those brain racing nights too. It sure sounds like you've been productive and made some wonderful plans for the days ahead! Blessings over it all 🙏🏻
ReplyDeleteOH I hate those nights when I know I should feel tired buy my brain is racing! It sounds like you had a very productive day at home.
ReplyDeleteHello, lovely friend. Sorry about the mind keeping you awake. Sometimes sleep just won't come, and that is so hard! For me, it is being warm lately. I wake up so warm and sweaty, even when I wear sleeveless pjs. Anyway, I am going to get going on Thanksgiving planning too. Enjoy your day tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI had a night like this last week. My mind was going everywhere! Like you, I do not like to go to the grocery store during holiday weeks. You made a lot of progress this past week in organizing and planning. This feels great doesn't it? Praying along with you that your house sells...God's timing is perfect.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I'm not the only one who truly understands that wakefulness at night when we'd much rather be fast asleep. You are truly in good company!
ReplyDeleteThe housing market in a lot of the country is failing, due to lower demand, overinflated prices, inflation and high rates. In order to sell now a lot of folks are having to reduce asking price otherwise property can sit for a while. Also the tariffs have damaged the economy, with the average age of first time home owners up to 40.. .Sweetallysum
ReplyDeleteWell, I will gladly change with you...as soon as my head hits that pillow, I am out, smiles. My job and that demands of it, do that. Nonetheless, you always make me smile. Wishing you a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteThose were a lot of coherent thoughts for the middle of the night! I hope you were able to sleep (and catch up on sleep) this past weekend and that your Monday has started off bright eyed and lovely!! Here's to a nice week ahead!:)
