Good morning my friends!
As I was having my coffee this morning and reading the thoughts of my fellow bloggers, it just hit me, how special this community is. I mean, we are friends, are we not?
We share stories of life and faith, household victories, as well as drama. We cheer each other on and pray for one another frequently. If that doesn't define friendship, I don't know what does.
We may not be able to physically sit on the porch to have our coffee, but we do gather in the same places each day and tell our stories.
We share recipes, hopes, tips and tricks. We navigate hard times with one another and celebrate the good.
When one of us is missing for a while, we ask around, check on one another and show genuine care.
Sometimes this is more than what real-life friends do!
We grieve with one another and rejoice in the good. We offer advice and knowledge and fill each other in on what works for us. We exchange information and receive it, as well. It's a good give-and-take.
Friendship is about love and concern. It's about showing up with the ice cream when things are tough. It's about stepping in when someone needs a hand. And even though we may not be able to do those things in person, we're really good at doing it emotionally for one another.
So, if we are blogging friends, just know that you are valuable to me. I'm praying when you need it. I'm giving the hugs in the comments I leave and checking in on you when you're gone too long. And I've felt all of that from you, as well.
Here's to building communities of love and faith and showing up.
You are loved 💜
Until Next Time...
Blessings!

I am so very grateful for the blogging community and for the friendships I have made here. They are, indeed, genuine friendships. And I am grateful for your friendship. I hope you had a wonderful day on your birthday...and that even today, you discover an extra blessing!!:)
ReplyDeleteJennifer, I am grateful for yours, as well :) And thank you for the birthday blessings! It was a wonderful day.
DeleteThis is beautiful... I am so very thankful for each and every blogging friend .... I enjoy knowing about your families and the things that not only concern you all, but also the things in your lives that brings you peace joy and happiness. I honestly feel like you all are my blogging family.
ReplyDeleteShug, we all feel like you're part of the family too :) What a blessing to have these friendships.
DeleteThank you.
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteIt's great being part of the blogging community, interesting way to observe the cultural changes that are going on in the States now. I'm also part of current events site's communities like Political wire, which is another window into the evolving political atmosphere in the country... Sweetallysum
ReplyDeleteMillie, yes, we are friends! And yes, we share our drama (well, some of it, anyway). What I share is tempered by my readers, how I expect whatever I have to say will be received.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I pray for my blogging friends, especially when they could use more intercession on their behalf.
Thank you for this post that bolsters that sense of community we feel for each other with our blogs! Hugs to you!
Barbara, hugs back to you :)
DeleteSo well said. I have been away from my blog for almost a year, perhaps longer but all my blogging friends are still there...it was so welcoming to be back.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you found your way back :)
Delete100%. My blogging community got me through some dark hours and days inn the past, and I hope I can offer that same kind of love to others. It is a lovely place to visit each day. Such sweet and kind people.
ReplyDeleteCheryl, you're one of my favorites :) I value your wisdom and all the great inspiration you offer each week.
DeleteI could not love this more dear Friend. I have often thought how incredibly blessed I am for this blogland "family" that I treasure and that are so valuable to my heart. You are so right about how very special it is. I remember being so afraid the first blog post I published. I had read several people's blogs for months. Never commenting - but just enjoying all they shared and feeling like they were friends. And that's why I decided to be brave and jump in and at least try....even though I was so sure no one would ever respond or follow me. Now more than a decade later I can't imagine a life without you dear Friends in it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this. Sending all my life and gratitude for you. 🙏🏻💗
Carrie, I'm so glad you're a part of this bunch of amazing ladies. Your heart shines through every post and I always look forward to hearing about your day. Thanks for always being so kind and encouraging.
DeleteFrom your beautiful way of writing I can tell you are an amazing person and friend to have. I'm glad we found each other through this blogosphere. I do hope you have a great weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteDawn Marie, I've enjoyed your writing! It's heartfelt and honest. I hope you keep telling your stories :)
DeleteOh Debbie. I feel the same way as you do about my blogging friends, including you! This is a very warm and welcoming community. I think that's why I have stuck with it since I stsrted my blog in 2009! Thanks so much for your visit this week, too, to Writing Straight from the Heart.
ReplyDeleteSusan, you started way back when I had my first blog :) We are veterans of the blogging world :) I'm glad I found my way back after a few years of being sucked into the social media world. This is way more fulfilling.
DeleteI love my blogging community!
ReplyDeleteMe too, Joanne :)
DeleteI value my blogging friends and am always concerned when one stops posting and always check back to see how they are. And its lovely if they stop and comment its nice to know what bloggers think.
ReplyDeleteChris, you sound like a good blogging friend, checking on others :)
DeleteI discovered your blog recently and almost chose not to comment. I fell in love with it and read back quite a long way. My reasoning for not already commenting is that I am in a phase of life that has me as busy as when I worked I think...maybe not, but older and busy makes for a whole new thing too. I too love the blogging way better than any social media could ever provide. Just good old fashioned blogging and I have made so many friends. I have met 2 in person and love them dearly. For now, I am still trying to keep the blog going because I just love the recording of our lives. Keeping grandchildren and taking care of my elderly mother and having a husband with an illness keeps me hopping though.
ReplyDeleteI have recently love many of your posts though so keep it up:)
Sandy, you sound like you're in that "sandwich generation" like me. It's such a hard and busy season. And I recently had to get a job, after being home for 32 years! Thankfully it's part time and I do have days off, which I treasure now more than ever. Blogging is my constant, that I do every morning. Even if I don't write anything, I love checking on my friends to see how they're doing. Thanks for stopping by and leaving me this comment so I can get to know you too.
DeleteI love this precious post! I am so thankful for this community too. You are right on target how we share so much and I love the friendships that have been formed. Thank you for the prayers and encouragement you have personally sent my way. Sending you a hug and enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Marilyn :) Prayers and encouragement are always available :)
DeleteThank you so much for sharing this!!! I needed to read it! I’ve been back and forth and I really think there’s so much importance to hold onto a blogging community! It’s so nice to have like-minded friendships! Thank you, for this post. It’s encouraged me to keep on! I believe this will be one of those posts I re-read during harder times. :) I’m so glad we found each other in blogger world, we haven’t followed one another very long but I’ve been blessed and encouraged by you! Thanks for being one of those people who make blogging worth it!
ReplyDeleteStacy, thank you so much! I'm glad you feel inspired and you should! Your story is important too. Keep blogging and making friends here. There are some precious ladies in this bunch.
DeleteJust saying hi. I don't think I've commented on here before, but I've had your blog bookmarked for awhile lol. Years ago I was big into reading blogs, even had one of my own (deleted years ago). Then I got sucked into social media and scrolling, scrolling, scrolling and didn't realize what it was doing to me until recently. I've been taking a pause and analyzing. I had to stop and think about all the things I did before social media, before my smartphone. Blogs, especially old-style blogspot blogger blogs (say that three times fast lol!) were a big part of my mornings as a stay at home mom. I work part time now in the mornings and I homeschool in the afternoon. So I don't have as much time as I did then, but I'm definitely trying to incorporate reading blogs. I miss the exact community you talked about in your post. I love meeting people through writing. There's a different kind of friendship you get with people online, and it's precious :-)
ReplyDeleteAngell, thank you for stopping by and taking time to comment. I work part time now too and times have definitely changed. But I still get my coffee in the morning and sit and read blogs and write, when I have something to say :) It's something I look forward to each day. I'm glad to hear you're still homeschooling, even though you're working. I homeschooled both of my boys through graduation and it was the most important job I've ever had. I hope you'll come back and visit again.
DeleteI loved this post! I actually read it last week and then accidentally got out of it before commenting, then I turned around and got side tracked and never came back. All that to say...I loved these words, I feel these words, because they're true. Some of my closest friends have come from this blog world, and I've met several of them in real life by now. What a blessing from God to have such friends like this, at my age in life. I wouldn't have made it through the last year and a half of my life without my little community of blog friends, and you are one of them! Thank you for your friendship and your many prayers on my behalf. That is worth more to me than anything in the world, my friend. You are loved as well!
ReplyDeleteJenn, you have so many people in this community who have prayed and even shed tears on your behalf. I'm so thankful to watch the Lord work in your life and call you friend :)
DeleteI don't have a whole lot of regular visitors to my blog, but I do treasure the ones I have.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I only just noticed your "Sometimes" thoughts on your sidebar. It spoke to my heart. Thanks for sharing.
Sandra, not only do I visit you, but you're one of my "favorites" on the sidebar :) I'm always checking in to see what you've been up to :)
