hello OCTOBER!!
You're finally here!
With all your hope of cooler days and chilly nights, football games, hearing the school band in the distance, crunching on leaves in the yard, wearing long sleeves again and maybe even a sweater or two.
You also bring my birthday and now, a little grandson's birthday to celebrate 🎂
You bring memories of homecoming parades, sitting on the curb in front of the church, watching the floats go by.
October, you are the ushering in the holiday trio - October, November, and December - and what a delight this time of year can be.
I've noticed over the past week that the shadows are changing in the middle of the day. Golden colors are starting to settle in, around 4:00 pm, and everything looks a bit cozier than the glaring days of summer.
October, you make me want to sit outside. You make me want to gather with friends, shop for the holidays and make lists of good food to cook. You make me want breads and soups and something covered in gravy 😊
And most of all...
you make me want to grab a cup of coffee, all my people, and have meaningful conversations about life, business, the babies, dreams and prayers.
That's what you feel like, October. You feel like home.
Thanks for coming around again 💛
Until Next Time...
Blessings!
Hello! First, I want to say thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I have to say I love your blog and consider me a new follower. :-) I love how you described fall and love the picture of those two cuties. You are blessed.
ReplyDeleteDawn Marie, thank you so much for visiting today! Those little cuties are my two oldest grand babies :)
DeleteI just wrote a post about October as well, but yours has more colorful words than mine. I agree with I want to holiday shop.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol :) Thanks for stopping by today!
DeleteHello friend! I'm so so glad that you found my blog! It seems like we have so much in common! You even wrote you have a new little grandson, we even have that in common! Our oldest daughter had our first grandson on July 18th, so I'm brand new to this Grandma phase of life as well! I started my blog over this week and already I've had so much encouragement, it seems like God is impressing on all of our hearts that we need to seek out what is real! I had decided against blogging but my husband (who is also my pastor lol) encouraged me to seek it out and pour myself into it. He said writing is a good outlet and blogging is a great way to find like-minded friends. I'm so excited to jump back in, and excited to have found your blog! I will be following :) So so nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteHi Stacy! I'm so glad you stopped by today! Congratulations on your new grandson! What a blessing. We are actually the grandparents of 4 girls and 3 boys now! The grandson who was born in October will be 3 this month. We have them from age 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 10 months and 9 months now. You will love this phase of life!!
DeleteAnd I'm so glad you started your blog up again. I hope you find some joy in just showing up every day (or week) and meeting new ladies.
Happy October! I've just returned from a nice long walk in cool morning temps - but blue skies and warmer temps predicted for the afternoon. Nothing like a walk in October with crunchy leaves underfoot.
ReplyDeleteIs there anything as cute as kids in a pile of leaves?
Have a wonderful day!
Hi Mari! Cool temps sound so refreshing! I open the door every morning and even if it's still in the 80's but a cool breeze is blowing, I'm happy :)
DeleteWhat a delightful letter to October!!
