Hello Friends! It's been a while since I've posted, but I've been a bit busy around here. Last week we had a new baby born on Monday and so I spent the first part of the week watching big brother, Asa, so mommy and daddy could bring baby brother into the world.
It was so much fun keeping Asa during the day (he went home with daddy every night) and by the third day, when he went home to stay, I was missing my little buddy running around.
Here he is NOT taking a nap 😅 but being so adorable about it. I mean, it's kind of hard to be upset when he's making you laugh with his antics.
Here he is looking out the window. Every time a train goes by, he runs to the window and watches it. I also found him just going to the window at random times, just as content as can be. Also, stackable cups are great fun for toddlers 😃 in case you need ideas.
Mommy and baby (and daddy) are all doing great! We took them a cake on Saturday and got to hold baby Sunday for a long time. (His name is Sunday James). What a joy it is to now have two new babies in the family, so close together. If I remember everyone's name, rank and serial number from here on out, it will be a miracle! There are seven grands now and we are so blessed!
Here are Eden Psalm and Sunday James, born 3 weeks apart. Eden looks so big next to Sunday, but I spent time with her on Friday and she's actually still so tiny. It's all about perspective, which is the same in life, right?
⛄
Currently my husband is still looking for a job. He's had some great meetings and hopefully one of them will result in actual employment. In the meantime, I am using this month to get organized around my office. I'll be honest...having David home full time throws me off my own schedule and routine and I don't feel as productive, which I don't like. Combined with the dark, cold and wet weather, I don't feel that motivated on some days. This is not how I wanted the new year to start. But then again...2025 hasn't exactly been great for others either. I have been watching too many videos of the fires in California and my heart is broken for all they have lost. It's devastating.
This week I think I will take a break from my phone and give my mind a break. Maybe that will motivate me to do some reading or needlepoint and take a step back from the world. Social media can be so consuming and we don't realize the hours we spend taking in useless information or even good information, that leads to overwhelm and noise.
So that's where I am right now.
Let me leave you with some cozy thoughts...
Yesterday I made this, which I can't pronounce, but you can find it in THIS VIDEO.
It was delicious and only takes a few common ingredients. I also used my bread machine for the first time since we've moved and made a loaf of french bread, which was so delicious.
David and I enjoyed this hot, yummy meal while watching Young Sheldon, which is a great show. Afterwards we each had dessert and settled in for a British detective show and then our usual 8:30 bedtime. It really does feel like we are hibernating! 😅
Hey! 4:30 comes early! This has also become the new routine. Getting "old" is really strange 😂
Well, I'm off to start the day. Thankfully I have some errands to run today, which will give me a change of scenery. Maybe I'll linger a bit. That always makes coming home feel a bit more welcoming.
Stay cozy, my friends!
Until Next Time...
Blessings!
My goodness, such sweet, sweet babies. Eden does look much older than Sunday. Asa is a cutey pie!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the entire family!!!
Congratulations on another sweet baby!! I would say 2025 is starting off quite sweetly for you:) Eden does look big but, goodness, how a baby brother makes Asa look practically grown up!! Praying your husband finds the perfect new job soon. And, yes, to taking a break from the news. I think I will do something fun - like try to make this yummy recipe for lunch!
ReplyDeletePS - thinking of wonderful British crime shows....have the seen the first couple episodes of Vera's final season? I can't believe it is the last season. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteThose babies are so adorable! Your meal looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWe love British crime shows.
