Thank You!

Good morning friends!

I wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who left a comment on my last post! I am feeling back to normal and am looking forward to a normal week, with hopefully, few surprises ๐Ÿ˜…

Over the weekend David and I dared to work outside in this heat, but our yard was looking abandoned, brown and crunchy, so it had to be done.

While David did the yard work, I moved everything off the back porch, washed all the dust off everything and put it all back together. Now we just need the cooler weather and we can sit outside and enjoy this view.

Many of my plants have gone crunchy too, but we continue to water the flower beds.

Both of my kids live in a city just down the road, where the water supply has been affected by the drought.  David and I noticed the bottled water is in low supply at the store we normally go to. People are having to drink bottled water until the water supply is safe.

We did have some brief rain last night, but it wasn't enough to turn things around at this point.

Over the weekend I made a cake, just for fun. I have finally figured out the secret to the perfect bundt cake...lots of greasing the pan! When the pan is adequately greased and you let the cake cool completely before turning over, it comes out perfectly.

I only mention this because it has taken me years to get a perfect bundt cake.

Today I am getting all 3 girls, so my day will be filled with playdoh, snacks, dance parties and who knows what else!

Needless to say, I will sleep good tonight!

I hope each of you have a wonderful day and I look forward to catching up on all of your blogs this week.

Until Next Time...

  1. I'm so glad you're feeling better! You were busy this weekend. I know that must have felt good to get to work like that! I sincerely hope and pray for rain for you soon; we are in the same boat, and haven't had any in weeks. We did get some yesterday, though, enough to freshen things up once again. Have a great day with your precious girls!

  2. You were busy. Such a lovely location to sit and enjoy the world! The cake is perfect.
    Have fun with the kiddos!

  3. It has been a long time since I made a bundt cake. I think it was the lack of greasing the pan and too many stuck cakes that made me put it aside. Now that you have shared the secret, I might just try one again soon. Just for fun:) And step it up with those rain dances!! Here's hoping you guys get some relief soon! Happy Monday -

  4. I'm so sorry I missed your post about being sick. Guess that was when I was having the eye surgery. I'm so glad you are back to feeling better. Thanks for the advice on the bundt cake. I haven't made one in years. I have wonderful recipe for a lemon bundt cake. Now you have me in the mood!!
Hoping this will be a truly wonderful week and some cooler weather. Hugs.

  5. Hello! I will be right over for a slice of that cake, my friend!

  6. Glad you're feeling back to normal.
Such a pretty view you have.
Wow that is a perfect bundt cake. I'd love a piece right about now. :)

  7. Glad you are back to your normal self! We are quite dry here. I have all but given up trying to keep the grass alive. We all need rain, it seems. The cake looks absolutely perfect! I use "baker's joy" spray in my cake and muffin pans. It is great and I don't have to oil and flour!

    Grace & Peace,

  8. Thank you for the budnt cake tip. I make an apple pumpkin pecan budnt cake every fall. I'll use your tip.
I have one grandbaby just 2 1/2 weeks old. I look forward to babysitting him for the first time someday. ~smile~

Thank you so much for leaving a comment! Come back soon!
