Some Bonus Time with Family

 Happy Monday, Friends!

What a fun weekend we had, spending time with some of our grandkids. Going backwards, here's a little recap of the past few days...

Asa Miller - 14 months old

Asa gave us a surprise visit yesterday afternoon.
I was busy paying bills and working in my office and David was
relaxing on the couch
when we got a phone call from Morgan,
asking if they could come let Asa play in the baby pool.
Of course, we dropped everything and got the pool ready with some
fresh water and toys.

We sat outside for a good while watching him play
and then headed inside to get cool.

Collin and Morgan ended up staying for dinner,
which was a bonus night and we loved it!
Morgan and I fixed dinner together,
while Collin and David chased Asa around the house.
We had coffee and cookies afterwards
and then they needed to get home and get their baby
to bed.
What a fun afternoon and a surprise bonus night with our kids.

Saturday we had a date with Addie (4 years old).

We took her to Chuck E Cheese,

which she requested.

We got there right when they opened and had the entire place

to ourselves for at least an hour.

It was so nice!

She had so much fun riding all the rides and playing games.

We ate pizza and Dip-N-Dots ice cream

and of course she went home with some little prizes.

It was a fun date and now the older girls are

requesting their own time at Chuck-E-Cheese for the future.

We'll have to let the budget catch up before we do another round.

Speaking of the older girls...

This week for Millie Day I bought them each a cross stitch

project from The Dollar Tree.

I can't believe they sell these for $1.25!

So on Thursday I taught them how to do cross stitch,

which they were so excited to do.

I showed them my first cross stitch project that I did in 5th grade.

I remember it well.

Mrs. Warmsley was my teacher and

at the end of each week she would give us time to work

on our cross stitch.

That project started my love of cross stitch and I went on

to do other projects, as well as latch hook.

It was an interesting thing to teach a class full of 5th graders.

Mrs. Warmsley was Filipino and had a very thick accent.

It's funny the things you remember.

Banjo says it's been a busy weekend and he's tired.

I hear ya, Banjo!

Today I need to get the August budget finished,

grab a few things from the grocery store,

clean the house and just take care

of some to-do's that have been lingering.

I'm looking forward to a slow pace today.

Whatever doesn't get done...

there's still tomorrow.

I hope your Monday turns out to be amazing!

Until Next Time...

Blessings!

  3. Enjoyed seeing the great times you had with the grands. Making memories♥ I'm with Banjo, busy days certainly call for an afternoon nap on the couch. :) Your first cross stitch made me smile, good to be passing that talent on to the girls. Hope you have a Marvelous Monday!

  4. I think that's wonderful that you learned cross stitch in school and had time to work on it there! Wow, I wish some of my teachers would've taught handicrafts when I was in school. I bet your granddaughters loved it.
I'm glad you had a nice surprise visit from your family. I love taking my boys to my parents' house and visiting all day. It feels like being a kid again myself, as they still live in the house I grew up in. It's like going home.

  5. It sounds like your are ready for a quiet Monday. I am working on my budget today as well as setting up a new journal for August. I'm hoping to have a no spend/low spend month.

  9. I’m glad you had such a fun weekend!
Places like Chuck E. Cheese are much nicer when they aren’t crowded!

I remember stitching in fifth or sixth grade after my work was done. But my teacher was not amused! I can’t remember which grade because I had the same teacher for both grades.
